Be ahead with rhinoplasty
Nose correction, also known as rhinoplasty, is a job for absolute specialists. Hardly any aesthetic procedure can be compared in its complexity, because the operating doctor has to pay attention to many individual details and subtleties of the sensory organ in order not to restrict its function.
The nose is literally the center of attention when looking at the face, and its shape and size are largely responsible for a person's aesthetic appearance. A rhinoplasty is intended to help the patient achieve harmonious facial proportions. Different surgical routes are used for this, which are more or less demanding. Either disturbing pieces of cartilage must be removed or implants must be added. Straightening the nasal wall can provide the desired results, as can sculpting the tip of the nose. A general distinction is made between open and closed nose plastic.
Since a rhinoplasty is a complex undertaking, depending on the procedure and the desired result, possible risks or complications also cover a relatively broad spectrum. They range from dryness of the nose or obstruction to nasal breathing to sensitivity to touch, cartilage damage and changes in shape. Follow-up treatments to correct these unwanted after-effects are relatively often necessary. However, these follow-up treatments are not included in the price of your procedure. To avoid getting into financial difficulties, ensure you have the necessary insurance cover with beautyprotect before the main procedure.
What you should consider after nose surgery
Depending on the type of procedure, a rhinoplasty takes one to two hours and takes place under general anesthesia. The operation is often carried out on an outpatient basis, so you can go home the same day. During a hospital stay, you will stay a maximum of one night if everything goes well.
- In the first 24 hours after the rhinoplasty, you should take it easy and not do any strenuous activities.
- You should avoid blood-thinning medications, as described above, for another two weeks after the nose operation.
- Continuously cool the operated areas.
- To relieve swelling or feelings of tension, you can try sleeping with your upper body slightly elevated.
- On average, you will wear the plaster or adhesive cast for about eight days.
- Avoid strenuous physical exertion such as sports or heavy lifting for six to eight weeks after the rhinoplasty and particularly protect your nose from impacts during this time.
- Wait between three and six months before exposing yourself to direct sun, going to the solarium or sauna again. In general, heat is not particularly conducive to healing.
- After rhinoplasty, it takes about a year for the nose to heal completely. The end result is up to 90 percent achieved after about six weeks.
